My first attempt at an artwork since mid-February and I’m not sure whether I like it or not. I’ll post it here, for now, so you can let me know what you think of it and if I should create more like it. This piece is inspired by the Mass Effect 3 video game which I’ve been playing a lot since I got sick (takes my mind off the pain). I tried to match the visual style with high contrast, dark vignette, and film grain along with lots of lens flares. I think I did alright.
I used Terradome 2 from the now defunct RuntimeDNA to create the landscape then added a few extra rocks to the foreground for more detail. I rendered the scene with Poser’s depth of field to added depth and realism. The lens flares were added in postwork using a resource from Colm of RDNA (now Daz3D). I tried to make the scene match the visual style of the game as closely as I could manage by darkening shadows, increasing contrast, adding a medium film grain, and darkening the edges with a vignette effect.
