I first started work on an artwork with this concept in September 2010 but it didn’t turn out too well at all so I didn’t post it. A while ago (I can’t remember how long exactly) I decided to give it another try and have been working on it ever since. It took quite a lot of work to finally get everything looking right but it was worth every countless hour. I now have a poster print of this hanging on my wall.
Using the scene from my first try as a starting point I moved the camera to a more dynamic angle, resized the stage, enhanced the prop and human materials, reposed the figures, and painted some new textures for various elements. This time, in postwork, I didn’t add any grungy overlays and instead enhanced both its clarity and color. The old artwork was dull and flat while this one is full of color and depth with a greater sense of the surreal.
