Notes:
This is my entry to the current contest for Poser users (see here) called “Let’s Stay In”. The theme of the contest is the current quarantine and what we’re doing while we shelter in place. The only requirement is that we use one of the free interior sets provided by the contest which I used in this artwork (GCD Interiors: Design 45). In addition to creating art and working on my art projects, I’ve been playing some video games including my beloved Mass Effect series. I decided to have Myla play video games in a room that is almost as cluttered and messy as mine in real life as my concept for the contest. LOL The Mass Effect scene on the TV is actually my artwork Going to Need Bigger Guns rather than a screenshot from the actual game. Wish me luck! I’ll update this post once the winners are announced to let you know if I placed or not.
EDIT: I WON FIRST PLACE IN THE CONTEST!!!!
Technical Notes:
Since I rendered this in Superfly, I replaced most of the plain Firefly materials in the scene with new and improved Superfly materials. I created a cyan area light to come from the direction of the TV to project its light and a soft ambient point light behind and to the right of the character. In postwork, I added glows to various things that needed to glow like the TV, phone, and game console power button. I also “smoothed” the colors and enhanced the night time/dark room effect without losing contrast and detail.
