Notes:
I finally found a great model of the Orville ship that was Poser-ready and now I have created my first space scene in I don’t know how long. I tried to not only make it look “sci-fi” but I also wanted the word “trippy” to come to mind. I think I managed it quite well. I plan on making more artworks featuring this ship and I have a model of the bridge too though that needs more work to make it usable and I’ll have to create my own uniforms and crew.
Technical Notes:
I used a space dome created by a vendor at Renderosity then enhanced it greatly in postwork to create the trippy space scene. I rendered the ship using IDL (to make the ship actually glow and get light from the space dome’s sun realistically) inside Poser, inside the space dome. I then took everything into Photoshop and had a blast with it! (Sorry.) I used various overlays, filters, and effects layers to create the final image you see here.
