Notes:
This still life artwork is an idea I came with primarily for the Renderosity Holiday Card Contest of 2019. I decided to go with a still life idea just to be different from what I usually do for contest entries and different from the other entries. I won’t be able to post this until the contest is over but I will update this post if I manage to place in the contest. I rendered the scene in blue and cyan tones with a touch of green for reasons that I’m not sure about other than I just really like those colors. Of course there is the fact that I’ve always wanted a frosted tree with blue and silver ornaments for the holidays; I guess now I have one.
UPDATE: I WON FIRST PLACE!!!!! YAY!!!!!
Technical Notes:
I rendered this scene completely in Superfly with lights by Blackhearted which I slightly edited for this particular scene. I used materials by VinceBagna as the basis for all the scene elements. (The scene is almost monochrome blue even before the postwork begins.) I then took the render into Photoshop where I used a bokeh filter to enhance the lights by adding bokeh glows to them. I then greatly lowered the opacity of that layer to make the effect very subtle. After that, I used a few actions and lots of adjustment layers plus an overlay or two to achieve the almost final look of this artwork. I finally added a touch of glitter to the artwork using Rons Glitter brushes and styles.
