The idea for this artwork came to me sometime last year but only now have I finalized enough characters and settings to be able to create this scene. Here we see Dr. Robert Bly sitting in his office at the museum and staring at a photograph of him and Blair Nimway from years past. You can also see a couple photos of Shelby Bly on his desk including one of Shelby as a child. I wanted to have Robert’s reflection seen in the glass of the main photo but I couldn’t manage the effect to my satisfaction. I rather like the way it turned out despite not being what I originally envisioned.

I first used HDR lights by Colm Jackson from the Render Studio 2014 set for Poser now available at Daz3D. These lights include ambient occlusion which rendered with so many errors that I had to switch my light setup and try again. (Which is too bad as the lighting looked fantastic if not for the errors.) I then switched to an IDL light setup and that too had several errors (little black spots). So, I combined the two renders in Photoshop and used the eraser brush erase the parts of each render I didn’t want then a few adjustment layers to match the two scenes together. It worked! The soft depth of field effect was rendered inside Poser. In Photoshop, I adjusted the colors and contrast of the overall artwork with various actions and filters. I then added a grunge overlay and a border to finish the artwork.
