My mom played the flute back in high school band and is very proud of it/has fond memories of it. That gave me the broad idea to then sit down and create this particular artwork. I actually asked for her help to make sure I had the flute posed correctly (and I’m glad I did because at first I had it backwards, apparently) and also that the hands are posed correctly. Close enough, she said. I like the overall warm brown color scheme of this one.
I used the Render Studio 2014 Daylight set for the lighting in this piece though I positioned the sun to be shining in through the window with an IBL light inside to be the interior lighting. I don’t know why I keep adding lens flares to all my artworks lately but I did it to this one too. I also used a few Photoshop actions and added a vignette effect. Not a lot of postwork on this one, to be honest, but it just didn’t need more.
