I started work on creating my own Black Widow character back in 2018 but never really finished her until now and only now have I put her into a scene for an artwork. My inspiration for this scene was the “Battle of New York” from the first Avengers movie but it’s not meant to be an “exact reproduction” of any particular scene from the film. It was merely “inspired” by that movie scene and this is my interpretation of it with my own embellishments. I had fun with this and I think I may create some more artworks with Black Widow. I have ideas for about three or so more scenes so stay tuned and we’ll see if there’s more to be created.
The scene was rendered with HDR lighting with various city ruins and rubble props. I added the fire and smoke in postwork using a Photoshop action I purchased from Envato. I then heavily edited what the action produced and continued to edit the colors, contrast, details, etc. I finally added a thin black border and the artwork is complete. I actually rendered Black Widow in the scene as a full scene then cut her out with a mask and then recombined all the renders via layers in Photoshop. If that sounds complicated, it was. It took all night to combine all the renders and layers into what you see here. I kind of lost track of what all I did to create the final artwork.
