End of 2017
It’s been quite a while since my last news update, hasn’t it? Long story short, I’ve been very sick for the last couple of months. I’m now recovering and trying to get back to work on all my art projects from 2017 and new projects for 2018. I’ll keep this news blog updated with my progress on all of these projects; more often than I have been doing.
For starters, I have two new artworks in the Dream 9 Studios gallery from December. They are “Orchid Zen” and “Lost Dolls”. Both can be seen along with all of my other best artworks in the Art Gallery. I’m already working on more new artworks that won’t be ready for viewing until next year so stay tuned to this space in the new year.
You may have noticed that I took down the old D9S Art Shop. For now, prints can only be bought from RedBubble and Zazzle. I will be building a new and improved Dream 9 Studios website with an integrated shop so you won’t have to visit two different sites. Soon you’ll be able to buy prints direct from the main gallery. I’ve only just begun coding so it and I want to make sure it is in perfect working order before making the new site live. I plan on having the new shop and site ready by the spring of 2018.
Back in October I released a new character at Renderosity, Vespera 2, which includes material presets for Daz Studio 3Delight and Iray created by my friend and partner on the new character, Anglu, in addition to my own presets for Poser. I have another character, Nicola 3, with all software presets almost ready for submission; I just need to create the promotional renders. I hope to have the new Nicola 3 into the Renderosity marketplace sometime in January. I don’t know what will be next for commercial 3D content. Declining sales are hurting my ability to make new characters. We’ll see what happens once Nicola is in the store and how well she does or doesn’t do.
I’m also getting back to work on the Shelby Bly Project. Check out that website for more on the status of my graphic novel project.
I have a lot of new software that I may dedicate time to learning in 2018 including Daz Studio, Marvelous Designer, and Zbrush (I know a little Zbrush but there’s much more that I have yet to learn). I’d like to learn how to start making my own props and such in Zbrush plus my own clothing models in Marvelous Designer. I may start learning how to use DS so I can use the newer figures and stuff from DAZ for my artworks but I haven’t decided for sure yet. I’ll never give up on Poser though, it’s what got me to where I am!
That’s all for now. I’m still recovering from being sick and not feeling 100% just yet. I’m trying my best to get back to work though. I have so much I want and need to do! I hope to see you all in the new year with many new artworks and more to show you.
