About Lizzie Prusaczyk
I am a 35 year old digital artist from Southern Illinois, USA. I was trained in traditional art by my Dad from a very early age and I took some traditional art classes during my school years. I learned everything I know about digital and 3D art on my own by just trying and doing. I have been creating digital and 3D art since 1999 but I am always learning new things and ever working to improve my techniques. My art is my life.

Questions About Digital Art
-
I am mostly self-taught though I do read the odd tutorial when I am able and often browse digital art forums for new tips and tricks to improve my techniques. I’ve also learned the valuable lesson of asking for help when I need it. Thanks to Facebook and the 3D art community’s openness to friend everyone in our little community, I am able to ask a great number of very talented people for help when I need it most. If there had been a place to study in my area, such as a university that taught this subject, I would have studied. Unfortunately I live in a rural area so there wasn’t anywhere for me to go. I honestly had no choice but to be self-taught.

I got my first copy of Paint Shop Pro in 1997 and my first copy of Poser (version 4) in 1999. I started creating 2D graphics with Paint Shop Pro as soon as I learned the interface and for a time offered free decorative website graphics. Poser took a lot longer to learn and I didn’t publish my first “good enough” art piece until 2003.

Not one on one, I’m sorry. I am planning on writing and recording some basic tutorials very soon. Stay tuned to the News page for updates.

I currently use Poser 12 and Photoshop CC as my main tools. I also use BlackSmith3D 7 Pro and the latest Zbrush as needed along with a plethora of Photoshop plugins. I am attempting to learn some newer programs but it’s slow going because I’m rather stuck in my ways of using what I already know and enjoy.

The desktop PC that I use is one that I built myself with the best and most powerful components that I can afford. I usually buy one component at a time when they are on sale and slowly improve my PC over time as I am able to. My current PC build was upgraded in mid-2020. I currently have an AMD RYZEN 7 3700X 8-Core 3.6 GHz (4.4 GHz Max Boost), 32 GB of DDR4 SDRAM, and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super GPU along with a lot of hard drive space and plenty of cooling fans.

Sorry but I am currently not doing any commissions.
Questions About Dream 9 Studios
-
I registered the name Dream 9 Studios on June 09, 2006 and started the first website for it soon after. Before that I had various usernames and such that I published my art under, none of which sounded very professional. Creating Dream 9 Studios was my way of becoming a professional digital artist.
-
It’s mainly the name of my art business. If you could call a room with a computer in it that I create my art with a studio then, yes. I suppose an art studio is whatever you need it to be and wherever art is created on a regular basis.

That would be me, Lizzie. The only outside help I have is when something goes wrong server-side then I email my host’s customer service. Other than that, it’s just me. I created the theme for this site with a template from Themify. Whenever I have a problem with the template that I can’t figure out on my own, Themify has great customer service.

I exclusively sell my 3D content for Poser and Daz Studio at Renderosity. I plan on creating 2D design resources which I will sell here on this website and/or elsewhere.

When I came up with the name “Dream 9” I had incorrectly remembered the John Lennon song title #9 Dream. The fact that I’m dyslexic makes it a little more understandable. I also have always just liked the number 9 plus dreaming is my favorite pastime.

Although I have no plans to at the moment, I do plan on going to more festivals and conventions in the future. Stay tuned to the News for upcoming events.
Other Often Asked Questions
-
For my online gallery/portfolio, I only display my best artworks (that is, my best according to my own preferences). Many of my older artworks that no longer meet my standards have been removed from viewing here and in my other galleries at various websites. If there’s something you’d really, really like to see again you just ask me and I’ll look for it.

After a lot of requests for those old online comics and graphic novels I created way back when which can no longer be found anywhere, I have decided to display them once again. I am in the process of locating them all right now (I have six hard drives to search!) but I have found a few. You can view all that I have found so far on my personal blog The Artist in Wonderland in the Archive of Old. I’ll be adding more content as I find it.
