This started out as just a test render to try out a parrot toy that my friend, Amy (PerpetualRevision), created and then it took on a life of its own. I had to think back to when I had a Goffin Cockatoo and how he used to play with his toys so I could pose these digital Galah Cockatoos in a realistic way. Ah, memories! I hope to create more artworks like this once Ken releases his next SBRM: Parrots Vol 4: Cockatoos so I can finally have a digital Goffin to play with.
Technical Notes:
I rendered this in Superfly with depth of field and two lights; a point light as the main light source and then a secondary area light to be the light coming from the outside window. Postwork was minimal, just a little touch-up here and there with the heal brush and then a few adjustment layers to bring out the color of the cockatoos and increase the overall contrast.
