This very, very colorful and psychedelic artwork came from an idea that popped into my head just a couple of days ago. At first, I didn’t like the way it was turning out and almost abandoned it completely like I have a few other scenes lately. I then posted a preview on Facebook and, after some wonderful comments from my friends, I decided to keep going and finish this scene. It took nearly two days to render due to the IDL and raytraced reflections but I do believe it was all worth it in the end. This is a fun looking artwork.
Technical Notes:
I used a combination of traditional lighting and IDL to light this scene. I also used raytraced reflections on several elements including the cat statue, her gold lame tights, and some background elements. I decided not to use any depth of field effects because I just like the way it looks as-is with the fish-eye lens effects. In postwork, I enhanced the colors and contrast with a mixture of filters and actions. I then added a colorful painted border to finish the artwork.
