Notes:
My tribute to my favorite traditional artist (besides my dad), Vincent Van Gogh. Originally this was going to be a still life artwork but about halfway through I decided to add the girl to the scene and I think it looks better for it. I got the idea for this scene after seeing the bedroom setting for sale at Renderosity (find it here) and then the rest of the scene came together piece by piece. The character featured in this artwork is my D9S Myla for LaFemme which is available now at Renderosity. What she is wearing is a skirt from another set by me called Dreamy DC DayDreams and is now available at Renderosity as well. Oh, and she is also wearing my Dream Hair Biscuits shaders (shown here for Superfly) on her hair model.
Technical Notes:
I created bump and normal maps for the paintings hanging on the walls to give them a thick texture like the real paintings have (I’ve seen several of them in person and they have a very thick texture to them so I tried to replicate that here). This was mostly rendered in Superfly but Superfly doesn’t do atmospheric lighting that I am aware of so that part of it was rendered in Firefly. I then took the two separate renders and combined them in Photoshop. I replaced most of the materials in the scene with Superfly cycles materials but used some of the textures and normals from the original set my materials. After rendering, I did quite a bit of postwork to enhance the colors and contrast with several actions and a couple overlays. I also added the bright sun from a lensflare set by Colm Jackson and then the scene was complete.
